The stories we tell ourselves // Passion Proj
Role: Director, Producer, DP, Editor
Trish Franco might live out of her truck camper and fly under the radar, but she holds the Female FKT (Fastest Known Times) for the two tallest peaks in the continental U.S. in Mt Elbert, CO and Mt. Whitney, CA. This film follows her in her pursuit of the FKT on America’s Tallest Peak, Mt. Denali. The film follows her internal dialogue as she grapples with her past above 18,000 feet. The award winning film traveled around the world, showing at over a dozen festivals.
This is a passion project of mine that I made because of Trish’s unique outlook on life, her amazing perseverance and due to my noticing that there is a severe lack of mother-daughter stories out there. While this one is not a rosy story, it does show that no matter where you are, turning back is always an option. Trish is a dear friend of mine and it is an honor to be able to have told this story of hers.
